I also wasn’t a big fan of how wlw relationships were portrayed here considering the plot progression and twists. There were a few bumps along the way in terms of cringe conversations and a terrible use of Nazis in a character backstory. Some books just need to entertain us and this one sure as hell did that for me. I don’t know why y’all disliked The Writing Retreat? Because it was bonkers good fun! A train-wreck I couldn’t look away from. Alex must confront her own demons – and finish her novel – to save herself. Trapped, terrified yet still desperately writing, it is clear there is more than a publishing deal at stake at Blackbriar Estate. Alex’s long-extinguished dream now seems within reach.
